Description
The Former Caretaker's Cottage at the former Polytechnic of Wales is a two-storey, three-bay house made of red brick, built between 1913 and 1914. It was designed by the Cardiff architects Teather and Wilson as a lodge for the former Women's Training College. The building features a Queen Anne style on the street side, with an offset rear wing. It has hipped slate roofs and a stone cornice above the brick stack. The façade includes an open pediment, slightly advanced brick pilasters, and outer window bays that are also slightly advanced. The central first-floor window is arched and keyblocked, with a splayed bay below it, and small-pane sash windows. There is a doorway located in the rear angle to the left.
