Description
The walls, gatepiers, and gates of Llanmaes House are a notable structure built from local limestone rubble, featuring ashlar piers and steps. At the entrance, there are a pair of square gatepiers with a base and cornice, positioned opposite the front door and elevated by two steps. These gatepiers support wrought iron gates that are not original and are adorned with very large incised vases.
Flanking the gateway, there are walls approximately 2 meters high, topped with a flat stone coping and ramped ends. To the left, the wall connects to a higher structure that includes a pointed arch doorway leading to the service court, which then transitions to a plain later opening. On the right, the wall adjoins a service building featuring a hipped slate roof and a large stack at the corner of the property.
The south wall is characterized by piers and panels of iron railings, creating a clairvoyee effect. This wall extends past the dovecote and along the east side of the garden, where it also incorporates later railings, square piers with pyramid caps, and additional later iron gates. The north wall is constructed of plain rubble.
