Description
Plaisted Cottage is a Grade II listed building constructed from roughly squared local rubblestone, with a late 20th-century extension that is rendered and features Welsh slate roofs. The rear elevation of the cottage is entirely rendered. The original part of the house, located on the right, is a single bay and single depth, two-storey section that has been extended in depth and wall height at the rear, along with an outshut. Each floor has a 6 over 6 pane sash window with a cement architrave. The roof has a fairly low pitch, suggesting it has been replaced, and there is a brick gable stack. The extension includes two additional windows above a recessed ground-floor lean-to porch that leads into the original gable entry. The rear elevation features three gabled dormers.
The interior was not seen during the resurvey, but it has been described by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW) as having a corner winding stair beside the fireplace and a chamfered cross-beam with decorated broach stops. The house underwent complete refurbishment and additions in the late 20th century.
