Description
Penllyn Cottage is a two-storey building constructed from roughly squared local limestone rubble, topped with a Welsh slate roof and featuring rubble end chimney stacks. The cottage has a double depth plan with four bays arranged in two parallel ranges. It includes timber casement windows that have lightly cambered voussoirs, with two-light windows on the first floor and cross-frame windows below. A gabled porch is located at the second bay, featuring a Tudor pointed arch opening and a boarded door. There may be a blocked opening to the left, and signs of disturbance in the front stonework suggest that the windows may have been completely replaced. To the left, there is a lower outbuilding range, now used as a garage, which has a small pane casement window on the gable end. The cottage is connected to Lodge Cottage on the right by a low, narrow range. The rear of the building has been modernised, but this area was not seen during the resurvey. The interior details were also not available at the time of the resurvey.
