Description

The barn at Biglis Farm is a long structure aligned north to south, constructed from stone rubble with tooled dressings and topped with a corrugated roof. Most of the openings feature cambered arches with voussoirs. On the uphill side, there is a tall blocked porch with a roof that extends over it, and opposing flush double doors leading to the farmyard. Ventilation slits are present on the sides at two different levels. On the downhill side, there are boarded loft openings, accompanied by a stone staircase on the outer side. The gable end showcases quoins that develop into battered buttresses, with paired segmental arches leading to a cartshed, paired loft openings above, and an oculus at the apex of the gable.
