Description
The War Memorial is made of Portland stone and features a tapering obelisk topped with a figure of Britannia, which is positioned below symbols representing sacrifice and victory. It has a swept-out cornice above a channelled square pedestal that displays shields over copper commemorative tablets for the First World War, set within architraves. There is a decorative band below, and a tablet for the Second World War has been added. The entire structure stands on a stepped circular base.
