Description
Dunraven Arcade is a terraced group of three-storey buildings, constructed in the early 19th century with later alterations. The frontages are classical, featuring scribed and plain stucco, an overall moulded cornice, and a plain entablature. Numbers 22 to 26 have balustraded parapets. The buildings have pilaster strips at the ends and at each bay of Dunraven Arcade, with Grecian capitals on the pilasters. There is an overall cill band at the second floor, which also appears at the first floor of Nos 26 and 30. The roofs are slate, with a steeper pitch on Nos 22 to 26, and No 28 has an attic storey. The chimney stacks are made of rubble and brick.
The frontages of Nos 26 and 30 feature three windows, No 28 has two windows, and Nos 22 and 24 each have one window. The first-floor windows generally have bracketed lintels, except for No 28, which has architraves on both floors. The outer bays of No 26 have pedimented bracket lintels. No 28 retains small-pane sash glazing, while Nos 22 and 24 also have sash windows. Nos 26 and 30 feature a mix of sash and modern windows. There are modern shop fronts throughout, and a drum clock projects from No 28 on ornate iron brackets.
