Description
This property, located to the right of the former Castle Hotel, is a terrace of three 3-storey buildings with a 3-window wide scribed stucco facade facing Derwen Road. The central windows on the left side are blocked, and the terrace returns around the corner to a 2-window front on Caroline Street. There is a deep band between the first and second floors, a swept-out cornice at the ground floor, and a plinth. The roof is slate, with brick and rendered chimney stacks. The windows feature recessed sash glazing, primarily with small panes.
The ground floor retains classical detailing on the right side, including a central doorway with a bracketed pediment and architraves around the windows, which have decorative keystones and raised lintels. The pediments have been removed, and the doorway positions on the left have been altered, featuring panelled and glazed doors. There is a splayed angle to the left with a clock, and the Caroline Street front exhibits similar detailing. The rear is finished in cement render, with mainly small-pane sash windows.
