Description
The National Westminster Bank is a mid-19th century, two-storey building featuring a five-window late Georgian stucco front with end pilaster strips. The original façade is partly concealed by an Edwardian single-storey classical front made of channelled ashlar, which is set back at both ends. The building has a slate roof with wide eaves at the back and a parapeted flat roof in front, adorned with a scrolled emblem above a wide modillion cornice and frieze. The central entrance is recessed and flanked by two Greek Doric columns, with an offset modern door. The windows are small-pane sash types, with tripartite arrangements in the outer bays on the ground floor and bracketed lintels above the first floor. There is also a sash window on the right side of the building.
