Description
The York Tavern Public House is a three-storey building with a three plus two window layout on its Wyndham Street elevation, which is finished in stucco and features a plinth and painted end pilaster strip. The building has a slate roof and rubble and brick chimney stacks. It includes 12-pane sash windows, while the entrance and shop front on the right side are modern.
On the York Place side, the building has a painted stucco gable end with a plinth. A two-storey cross range, also in stucco and with a slate roof, extends to the rear towards Market Street. This side features horned sash windows without glazing bars and a modern hooded porch, also in painted stucco. The Market Street gable end has a broadly spaced Venetian type sash window on the second floor with an end architrave leading to an additional entrance.
There is a two-storey range adjoining to the left, but it is not considered of special interest.
