Description

Crugau is a farmhouse that features a roughcast exterior and a slate roof, complete with small roughcast end stacks. It is one and a half storeys tall and has a double-fronted design with 20th-century metal windows that are offset to the left. The two upper windows are set in roughcast eaves gables and still show remnants of dripstones. The lower left window has a cambered head, while the lower right window has a brick head. There is a six-panel door to the left of centre, which includes four glazed panels, situated within a roughcast gabled porch. A loft window is located in the right end wall, and there are no windows in the left end. The rear of the building features a gable on the left side with metal casements on each floor and a door that has a timber lintel. To the right, there is a small timber window on each floor.

The interior is not accessible, but the plan in the Royal Commission volume indicates a hall with a fireplace and a winding stair at the northern end. It also shows five beams—one at each end and three in between—as well as two small partitioned rooms at the southern end.
