Description
The Rheola Brook Aqueduct is a Grade II listed cast-iron aqueduct constructed from large cast-iron components. It features two side pieces with decorative outer faces and six base pieces. The sides are adorned with eleven thin Roman Doric half-columns. The broad channel consists of joined single massive pieces.
The bridge is supported by rubble stone piers made of squared stones, each pier having triangular-section faces. To the north, the channel is flanked by parapets and includes a cobbled channel with two additional triangular-faced piers. To the south, the channel slopes down slightly and has parapets that are cut to allow access ramps leading down to the canal.
