Description

Bont Fawr Aqueduct is a large structure, built of rubble stone with carefully finished dressings. Dating to an unknown period, it comprises four elliptical arches supported by wider, tapering piers. The piers have stepped stone courses at their tops, against the arch spandrels, and the abutments are similarly detailed. A continuous band runs below the later parapet, which features blue-brick saddleback copings and is splayed outwards at the ends. The aqueduct deck is now surfaced with tarmac and serves as a path.
