Description
Veranda House in Singleton Park is a two-storey building with lower northeast and northwest service wings that create a yard. It is constructed of brown stone with a rendered service range and features slate roofs. The entrance faces southeast, and the slate roof does not align with the end gables. There is a rectangular stone chimney on the right and another set back on the left. A central gabled porch includes an upper three-light square-headed window set in a gothic-arched recess, along with a Gothic entrance doorway. Each floor has a three-light window on either side of the porch. The southwest return has two gables and a large rectangular chimney towards the rear, with Gothic arches on each gable; the left gable is marked with "1853" and features a sundial, while the right gable has a two-light window. The ground floor includes a single-storey lean-to made of stone with a banded slate roof, a doorway, and windows. At the rear, there is a gabled dormer and a long one-and-a-half storey rendered service wing that has three gabled dormers and a round tower made of exposed stone.
