Description

Plas Newydd is a two-storey building, likely dating from the 18th century, constructed of rubble masonry, with the front wall featuring a snecked finish. The roof is slate, with oversailing gables. Brick chimney stacks sit on stone bases, and the windows are wooden casements with small panes.

The main entrance front faces west and consists of a long range with a gabled crosswing to the right. A central gabled porch features a broad, chamfered pointed arch, with freestone dressings and a coping that incorporates a fleur de lis at the apex. To the right of the porch is a gabled crosswing, with a two-light window on the first floor and a three-light window on the ground floor. To the left of the porch, the first floor has a steeply gabled dormer window set partly below the eaves, and the ground floor has a three-light casement window. A small window is located above the porch.

The south-facing elevation, along Village Road, has a two-light window on the left and, to the right, a semi-hexagonal bay with a steeply pitched slate roof.

At the rear (east), a wing projects at right angles. The rear gable is slate-hung and has a three-light window on the first floor. The roof slopes down towards Park Road over a shallow, single-storey bay with a three-light casement window.
