Description

The limekiln in Bovehill Wood is constructed from local rubble limestone and stands approximately 4 meters high. It features two working recesses, each about two meters wide, with vertical sides that are deeply corbelled over the working holes. An iron beam extends over the left working hole. On the right side of the right working recess, there is a hollow in the wall, which may have served as a candle recess. The kiln is positioned against a bank, with a short length of bank revetment on both the left and right sides.
