Description
The limekiln located below Weobley Castle is constructed from limestone rubble masonry and features a single working recess on its west side, positioned above the path. This recess measures approximately 2.5 meters wide, with vertical sides that are corbelled at the front. It has a very flat segmental arch above, although the front edge has collapsed. The wall above the draw hole is also corbelled out and supported by an iron lintel. On the right side wall, there is a small recess that may have served as a candle shelf. The interior lining is not visible, and the kiln has a diameter of about 3 meters.
