Description
Llanrhidian Lower Mill is a three-storey mill building constructed from local uncoursed limestone rubble masonry. It features a hipped slate roof with tile ridge and hips, but lacks guttering. The northeast elevation facing the road has three boarded doors stacked one above the other, with a small window to the right at ground level. The southwest elevation displays one blocked window aperture at the top storey. The southeast elevation, which faces the pool, has a chimney slightly offset to the right, topped with weathered coping. Below the eaves level of this chimney is a shallow recess in a Gothic shape, forming a pointed arch, which contains a carved stone that names the owner and craftsmen. There are three-pane windows at ground, first, and second floor levels on either side of the chimney, although the ground storey window on the right is blocked. Attached to the northwest side of the mill are lower brick and stone sheds. The interior was inaccessible during the inspection.
