Description

The Pillory in Llanrhidian Village is formed from a reputed ancient cross and stands about 2 meters tall, measuring approximately 1.1 meters wide and 0.2 meters thick. The rear face of the stone is slightly rounded, and the remains of the cross wheel-head are flush on that side, indicating that the cross was originally intended to be viewed from one side only. Currently, the stone is positioned in a cleft at the top of a small natural limestone outcrop.
