Description

This is a late 20th-century telephone call-box. It features a domed roof with four lunettes, each containing an embossed depiction of Queen Elizabeth II’s crown above red lettering spelling "OPAL". Ventilation slits are also present in the lunettes. The sides and door have raised surrounds, with marginal glazing to horizontal perspex panels. The rear of the call-box is plain, except for a foundry identification mark which reads "Lion Foundry / Co Ltd / Kirkintilloch". A moulded plinth is present at the base.
