Description
1 and 2 Church Cottages are a pair of single-fronted, 2-storey cottages dating from 1861. The walls are made of pebble-dashed rubble stone, and the slate roof features a large brick chimney stack on the right and a smaller one on the left. Each cottage has a central doorway with replaced doors. The windows are 2-light casements with 4 Tudor-headed lights and stone sills. Above the doorways, there is a central gablet with decorative fretted barge boards and a blind vent strip that includes the engraving 'CW 1861'. At the rear, there is a renewed 2-light casement window in the upper storey and an added lean-to below. The property was not inspected at the time of the survey in January 1998.
