Description
A pair of cottages dated 1862, located on the west side of Queen Street in Tintinhull. They are constructed of ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings, and have double Roman clay tiles over a stone slate base, with purpose-made clay ridge tiles. The roofs terminate in stepped coped gables, and there are brick chimney stacks. The cottages are arranged in a āUā shape, with 2 storeys and 4 bays in total. The first and fourth bays are projecting gables. They feature chamfered mullioned windows in plain surrounds, with a 2-light window above a 3-light window on each floor. A cambered arched doorway, with a boarded door and tiled hood, is located in the angle of the lower bay 2, and in the same angle's bay 3 is the base of a chimney stack with offsets. An additional coped gable over bays 2 and 3 contains a rectangular plaque displaying a tile with a wyvern device and the date 'R.C. 1862.' A door to No. 33 is located on the north side wall. The interior of the cottages has not been inspected.
