Description
Plowman's Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a double Roman clay tile roof. The north gable has stepped copes, while the south gable is plain. There are brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays.
On the upper level, there are 2-light 20th-century small-pane casements, while the lower level features 2-light plain mullioned windows with beaded architraves. There is a 19th-century bay window in ashlar with a hipped metal roof at the lower bay 3. Between bays 2 and 3, there is a boarded door set in a plain recess. Attached to the south gable is a one-bay wing that is slightly lower, which has a 3-light small-pane casement above and a metal garage door below, set under a heavy timber lintel. The interior has not been seen.
