Description
The granary at Oldcastle Court Farm is a Grade II listed building constructed from squared coursed snecked red sandstone rubble, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The structure features stone gable walls, with the long side open at the front as a four-bay implement shed. This shed is divided by three square timber posts set on stone blocks, which support heavy timber beams that hold the granary floor above. The granary itself has a horizontally boarded front and a segmentally headed window in the gable end, while the stone rear wall is completely plain.
Inside, the open ground floor reveals heavy scantling timber designed to support the weight of the grain stored above. The interior of the granary was not available for inspection during the resurvey in April 1997.
