Description

The outbuildings at Cilwych consist of an L-plan range. The large barn, constructed from rubble stone, features a half-hipped corrugated roof. On the left side is the barn, while the right side has two large round-arched cart entries with cut-stone voussoirs. The barn includes a full-height door with an overhanging pentice, flanked by large loops on either side. The right end wall is accentuated with grey stone quoins, and the rear has a large door positioned to the right of center, along with one loop to the right.

To the left is a lower L-plan range, which is poorly constructed but more architectural, made of coursed small squared stones. This two-storey section has a slate roof and features a double sill course beneath square loft windows, with one window in the short stable section to the left of the barn and two in the return cartshed section. The stable includes a door and window with stone voussoirs, while the cartshed has two broad elliptical arches with stone voussoirs, triple keystones, and raised imposts on pilasters made of cut grey stone, set against rubble outer piers and a central round pier. A datestone between the loft windows reads 'Thos. Bold 1822'. There are outside steps at the left end leading to the loft door, and the rear northwest angle is hipped. The interior has not been inspected.
