Description

79 The Watton is part of a three-storey row of six houses, numbered 75 to 80 consecutively. Each house features a front with one window and a door, with the doorway to No. 80 located on the side elevation facing John Street. The fronts are pebbledashed, with some sections painted. There are bands at the sill levels of the second and first floors, and a plinth at the base. The roof is slate and hipped, with brick stacks along the ridge.

The windows have stuccoed architraves, with two-light casements featuring margin lights on the second floor. The first floor has French casements with margin lights and contemporary iron balconies. On the ground floor, there are 6-pane sash windows. The doorcases are plain wood, supported by wooden pilasters and topped with bracketed cornices. Nos. 75, 76, 78, and 80 have overlights with rectilinear tracery, and all doors are four-panelled.
