Description
This is a row of six houses, numbered 75 to 80, forming part of The Watton. The houses were built as a three-storey block and date to the 18th century. They have pebbledashed frontages, with some areas painted, and feature horizontal bands at the level of the second-floor sill and first-floor sill. A plinth runs along the base. The roof is slate and hipped, with brick stacks positioned along the ridge. The windows have stucco architraves. The second floor has two-light casements with margin lights. The first floor has French casements, also with margin lights, and contemporary iron balconies. The ground floor windows are six-pane sash windows. Each house has a simple wooden doorcase with wooden pilasters and bracketed cornices. The houses numbered 75, 76, 78, and 80 have overlights above the doors, decorated with rectilinear tracery. The doors are four-panelled, and the doorway to number 80 is located on the side elevation, facing John Street.
