Description
The building known as the Byre and Cart Shed at Ty Llangenny is a long structure made of whitewashed rubble sandstone with a slate roof. On the right side, the 3-bay cart shed features flattened elliptical arches with tooled voussoirs and has boarded loft openings above. The right gable end includes an external stone staircase leading to a boarded loft door, which is set under a timber lintel. The rear wall of the cart shed has two loft openings located beneath the wall plate.
On the left side, the byre has boarded doors to the right and left of the center. Between these doors, there are two windows with timber lintels, and a similar window is located at the left end. Above these, there are two boarded loft openings. The left gable end of the byre has two ventilation slits for the loft.
The building was not inspected at the time of the survey in December 1997.
