Description

Llwynonn and Dolgarreg are a pair of substantial, semi-detached Victorian estate houses. They date from the Victorian period and are part of a group of two. The houses are constructed of rubble stone with slate eaves roofs and feature three red brick chimneys. The front elevation is characterized by a pair of advanced gables to the centre, with plain bargeboards and finials above. Each floor of the gables contains a three-light mullion and transom window set within a painted rendered surround with a hoodmould. Narrow entrance bays are set back on each side, incorporating a door below and a casement pair window above. The doors are angled to the projecting main gable, with a small window immediately adjacent, and are sheltered by two-bay open porches supported by wooden posts and fretted brackets, with hipped slate roofs at the outer end. Slightly lower, slightly set back one-and-a-half-storey sections sit at each end wall, with no windows to the front but windows on each floor to the end walls, half-hipped roofs, and terracotta finials. Upper windows are positioned above the doors on the end walls. The rear displays a double-gabled design, featuring a large window to each gable at first floor level, and a small window under the eaves on each house. Llwynonn has 20th-century glazing to the window over the porch and has lost some porch detail, alongside a flat-roofed rear addition. The property was not inspected.
