Description

Neuadd Deg is a Victorian estate house featuring minimal Gothic detail. It is constructed of rubble stone and has a slate eaves roof, red brick end stacks, and red terracotta crested ridge tiles and finials. The building stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. In the center, there is a pair of small casement windows above a door, which is sheltered by a pent slate hood supported by carved sloping brackets. The triangular area above the brackets is decorated with Gothic cusping. The panelled door has herringbone boarding in its panels.

On either side of the door, there are three-light mullion-and-transom timber windows. The ground floor windows have painted rendered surrounds with hoodmoulds, while the upper windows feature red brick jambs and timber lintels, breaking the eaves under overhanging gables that have bargeboards and collars supporting a pendant finial. The rubble stone end wall has two casement pairs in rendered surrounds, with the ground floor windows being longer and also having hoodmoulds. There are two basement vents below the wall. The gable verges are adorned with bargeboards.

At the rear, there is an attached service wing that is set lower due to the sloping site. This wing has a bargeboarded gable with a terracotta finial above an eaves-breaking window, which features 20th-century glazing. The ground floor has been altered and includes two wide openings with 20th-century glazing; the left opening retains a remnant of a window with a hoodmould above, while the right opening was a former carriage entry with a cambered head and cambered hoodmould. The building has not been inspected.
