Description

Llanarth Villa is a Victorian Gothic style building constructed with coursed grey rubble stone that is thinly banded in red brick. It features a slate half-hipped roof adorned with crested ridge tiles. The building has an attractive sandstone squat ridge stack with a battered base and half-round ashlar flue dividers, as well as a tall battered chimney on the rear wall.

This one and a half storey, double fronted villa showcases 16-pane sash windows on the ground floor, each framed with chamfered ashlar surrounds, ashlar lintels, and flush sills. The windows are topped with pointed stone relieving arches. The central door is set within an ashlar surround with a shouldered head and a similar relieving arch above it. The ledged door features strap hinges and is recessed. There are red brick bands at the sill and springing level of the relieving arches.

The front elevation has an asymmetrically placed upper window, which is a 9-pane sash with an ashlar surround but lacks a relieving arch. The window head breaks the eaves under the stone gable, which includes a small vent loop. The left end wall has a window on each floor with relieving arches, although the original sashes have been replaced with 20th-century glazing. The right end features a first-floor 16-pane sash with a relieving arch.

At the rear, there is a 20th-century cement block two-storey addition on the right side, while the left side has an outshut roof.
