Description
Spencer House is a two-storey house built in a minimal Tudor style, featuring whitewashed roughcast and slate eaves roofs. The building has a T-plan layout with the entrance located on the north side. The west front includes a gable that projects to the left, with a one-window range set back to the right. The windows are timber Tudor-style, segmental-pointed, and consist of two lights with Y-tracery, a transom, and small panes. The left gable has a red brick side wall stack on the right wall, and above it, there is one window over a similar French window that also has Y-tracery and a Tudor fanlight. The range to the right features one smaller window on each floor, with the lower window having been renewed in the 20th century.
On the north side, there is a central porch and a window above, along with a one-window range to the left, which has similar Y-tracery windows. The roughcast porch includes a door in the west side wall and a similar window on the north side. The south end gable has one similar window on the first floor. At the rear southeast angle, there is an added lean-to that features a Tudor-arched door and a Y-tracery window, which are less refined than those on the original house. A chimney is located on the south side of the north range.
