Description
The Barn Range at Troedyrhiw is a Grade II listed building featuring a small later rubble extension on the left with a half-hipped slate roof. This extension has a divided boarded door with a timber lintel and a small window above that has a similar head.
On the right, there is a small rubble addition with a hipped slate roof, which includes a wide opening with a timber lintel and corrugated-iron doors. Above this opening, there is a slatted window in the gable of the barn.
The roof structure comprises five pairs of scarfed crucks with pegged collars, although the centre pair is missing. The crucks have yoked apexes and rough purlins on cleats, with the soffits of the crucks being chamfered. The left gable features half-timbering, supported by crude cupped vertical posts that hold up the ridge and upper purlins. The underthatch consists of split palings, with some thatch still remaining.
