Description
The former cow-house at Troedyrhiw is a Grade II listed building constructed from whitewashed rubble. It features a corrugated-iron roof and wooden soffits. The front has three doors with timber lintels, although the central door is partly blocked. The right end includes a small loop at ground level and a doorway in the gable that has been reduced to form a window. The left end has a blocked ground floor loop with a timber lintel, while the rear is plain.
Inside, the roof structure consists of four bays, with three pairs of slightly curving thin upper principals resting on cut-off beams. It has pegged collars and yoked apexes, with rough purlins supported on cleats. The soffits of the crucks are stop-chamfered. The thatch is complete, with an underthatch made of rough poles. Additionally, there are 19th-century wooden cow-stalls present.
