Description
Lletty-mawr Limekiln is a notable single limekiln constructed from squared and roughly coursed limestone masonry. It measures approximately 10 meters in width and stands about 10 meters high. The front wall is straight but has a battered design, with the sides returning at nearly 90 degrees. There are two working areas, each featuring a low and slightly pointed outer arch. About 1.5 meters behind the front, there is a break in the masonry that conceals the earlier kiln front. The working holes are located approximately 4 meters from the front and are supported by iron bars and corbelling above. Although the top has eroded, the interior diameter of the kiln appears to have been around 4 meters.
