Description

Dolwilym features a castellated gateway made of rubble stone. It has square turrets that include narrow loops, which are arched on the rear side, and corbelled battlements constructed from coursed rubble with stone copings. Between the turrets is a steeply pointed arch made of narrow freestone voussoirs, topped with a stepped gable. The older gate piers are incorporated into the jambs, although the gates themselves have been removed.
