Description
1 King Street is a period shop with living accommodation above, built over three storeys and featuring three bays. The exterior is finished in painted stucco with a slate roof, rendered end stacks, and large close-set brackets supporting the eaves cornice. The building has stucco quoins, and the upper floor windows are set in moulded stucco surrounds, with small corbels supporting the sills on the second floor. The first floor windows are larger than those above.
The ground floor includes a 20th-century wooden shop front on the right, which features a plinth, flanking fluted pilasters, and brackets, along with a plain fascia and cornice adorned with modillions. The shop front has plate glass windows and a central door, with rectangular panels above all three openings. At the time of the resurvey, the left shop front was undergoing reconstruction. The interiors on the ground floor have been altered for use as shops.
