Description
60 King Street is a building that serves as a house and shop, with accommodation above. It features painted brick construction, a parapet, and a slate pyramid close-eaved roof. The building stands three storeys high and has three bays. The upper floor openings are adorned with large painted stone or stucco voussoirs and keystones, and the windows have hornless sashes. The second floor has nine-pane sashes, while the first floor has twelve-pane sashes. The window spacing is uneven, with closer spacing between the centre and right bays. The shopfront, dating from the late 20th century, has been altered and includes a central door and a house door to the right, all framed by outer pilasters, a fascia, and a cornice. The rear roof is hipped, featuring two horizontal windows in the attic and two twelve-pane windows on the first floor.
The ground floor shop has been completely altered. In 1981, there were fielded panelled doors and an earlier 19th-century elliptical staircase with straight balusters, which appear to have been removed.
