Description
The Queen's Hotel is an inn located in an irregular terraced row, featuring painted stucco and a slate roof with deep bracketed eaves and a stuccoed stack at the left end. The building has three storeys and a cellar, with a four-window range. The upper floors have segmentally headed window openings, with sliding casements on the second floor and 4-pane sash windows on the first floor. The ground floor includes two flat-headed 4-pane sashes that align with the windows above in the first two bays, followed by an unaligned flat-headed doorway (which was paired with another door that was blocked in 1981) and a large shop window. The entrance features a five-panel door, with the top two panels rounded, and an overlight that is marked 'The Queen's Hotel'. There are also metal double doors to the cellar set into the pavement on either side. The upper floors have stucco quoins on the right, a thin string course under the first floor, and a wooden fascia. The building has a raised plinth. The ground floor was remodelled in the 20th century.
