Description
Shadog Farmhouse is a probable late 18th century farmhouse that stands two storeys high and features three windows. The building is constructed of limewashed rubble and has timber sash windows. It has a pitched roof covered with slate and rendered stone stacks. The front facade includes a painted, boarded timber door at the centre of the ground floor, flanked by 12-pane sash windows. The upper storey has smaller 4-pane sash windows. Slate sills are present throughout, and stone voussoirs can be seen beneath the limewash. The farmhouse also has cast iron rainwater goods and a gabled roof with rendered end stacks.
There is a rear extension, located to the right, which is also made of limewashed rubble. This extension features a 20th century replacement timber 4-pane window on the first floor, supported by massive stone voussoirs. The roof is slated and has a large rubble chimney on the rear gable.
The internal layout is not fully clear due to limited inspection, but the extension likely contains an early to mid-19th century bread oven with a cast door. The kitchen has exposed ceiling beams.
