Description
Henfryn Mill is a former woollen factory from the 1890s that has been converted into a dwelling house. It features a long, rectangular layout constructed of rubble stone. The main range is three stories tall and is flanked by lower two-story sections, all of which have yellow brick cambered heads above the openings and slated roofs. The main range has a hipped roof with yellow brick end stacks and consists of eight bays, each with small-paned casements that have swivelling three-pane uppers. The upper floor windows have nine panes, while the other windows have twelve panes, with the ground floor windows being smaller. A modern panelled timber door is located on the first floor in bay six, accessed by a steep flight of stone steps that obscures the basement. The basement's right bay features a large rectangular opening for a cart shed, supported by a long timber lintel.
To the left of the main range is a two-story section with seven bays and a gabled, pitched, slated roof. The ground floor has a blocked opening in bay one and an opening in bay six. The first floor has doorways in bays five and seven, with bay seven accessed via a modern footbridge, which serves as the current entrance to this part of the building. Bay five has a timber door that was previously accessed by a flight of timber steps, which have since been removed. Bay six has a replacement two-pane timber-framed window, while the remaining bays feature 16-pane casement windows, all with cambered yellow brick heads and slate sills.
The smaller lean-to range at the right end is partly a modern rebuild and has a slated roof, with a first-floor facade opening that also has a cambered yellow brick head. The first floor has been converted into a modern residence.
