Description
The former agricultural ranges at the Old Rectory are an L-shaped structure dating from the 19th century, featuring a cowshed and pigsties to the west and a barn/cartshed extending to the south. The building is constructed from rubble with slate roofs. The cowshed has three doorways, each with cambered stone voussoired heads. The outer doorways are blocked and have 6-pane windows inserted, while the central doorway features a divided planked door. There are loops between the doorways and to the left, along with a small window in the gable that has a timber lintel. At the left end, there is a pair of pigsties, which were remodeled in the 20th century, accompanied by a rubble forecourt wall.
The taller barn range is positioned at a right angle and includes a high barn door on the left that rises to the eaves, featuring paired planked doors. There is a loop in the center and a cart doorway to the right with an elliptically arched head and dressed stone voussoirs. Above this doorway is a window with a timber lintel and louvre. There is a corresponding barn door at the rear.
Part of the cowshed at the west gable end is lofted and boarded, originally intended for servant use. The barn has a collar beam roof supported by iron bolts.
