Description
Early 19th century. Loose quadrangular-plan steading formed by
2 facing L-plan ranges with covered cattle court adjoined to W range. Rubble masonry, piended slate roofs.
S AND W RANGES, OUTER ELEVATIONS: impressive blank wall ranges facing Main Street to S (some blocked openings) with adjoining former farmhouse to E (listed separately), and garden of present farmhouse (listed separately) to W.
S AND W RANGES, INNER ELEVATIONS: S range, large 2-leaf doors to left, 2 doors to right; W range, large opening to left, double-piled cattle court advanced to right with various doors and feeding openings, overlapping ventilation slates.
N RANGE, OUTER ELEVATION: most masked by corrugated metal Dutch barn to right, door with half-piended hayloft above to left.
N RANGE, INNER ELEVATION: large sliding door to left, 3 stable doors and 3 windows to right; hayloft door to left return gable.
E RANGE: upper floor (probably granary) removed, pentice roof; outer elevation blank, 3 segmental cart-arches at inner elevation.
