Description
Whispers is an early to mid 19th century building that stands three storeys high with a two-window main front. The exterior features rusticated colourwashed plaster and a slate roof that is hipped towards the street, with plain eaves.
The second floor has shallow upper sashes with nine-pane windows and plain reveals. The first floor showcases twelve-pane sash windows, each topped with moulded flat hoods supported by scrolled consoles.
On the ground floor, there is a later 19th-century shopfront with gabled fascia ends on consoles and sunk panelled pilasters. The fascia has a plain cornice. To the left, there is a canted doorway with a rectangular fanlight and a modern door.
The side elevation has scribed plaster and features two windows similar to those on the front, also with plain reveals. A narrow entry alongside leads to a side entrance for Olieme House. This side entrance is a three-storey single bay with smaller windows compared to the main front. It includes a round arched doorway with a good segmental fanlight.
