Description
Olieme House is an early to mid-19th century building that stands three stories tall and features a two-window main front. The exterior is made of rusticated colourwashed plaster, topped with a slate roof that is hipped towards the street and has plain eaves.
The second floor has shallow upper sashes with nine panes in each window and plain reveals. The first floor showcases twelve-pane sash windows, each adorned with moulded flat hoods supported by scrolled consoles.
The ground floor has a later 19th-century shopfront, which includes gabled fascia ends on consoles and sunk panelled pilasters. A plain cornice runs along the fascia. To the left, there is a canted doorway with a rectangular fanlight above it, leading to a modern door.
The side elevation features scribed plaster and two windows similar to those on the front, also with plain reveals. A narrow entry alongside leads to a side entrance for Olieme House. This side section is a single bay, three stories high, with windows that mirror those on the main front but are smaller in proportion. It has a round arched doorway with a good segmental fanlight above.
