Description
The milepost at Glan Rhyd is a Grade II listed structure made of two cast-iron plates, each with a pointed top. The plates are positioned at a right angle to each other and are attached to a solid backing, but they are not connected to each other.
The plate facing west indicates a distance of '18 miles 760 yards to Carmarthen', while the plate facing east shows '3 miles to Narberth'. Both plates feature the smaller inscription 'Marychurch Foundry' at the bottom. This milepost is the third along the Tavernspite turnpike.
