Description
The milepost at Gelli-deg is a Grade II listed structure made of two cast-iron plates, each with a pointed top. The plates are positioned at a right angle to each other and are attached to a solid backing, but they are not connected to one another.
The west-facing plate indicates a distance of '19 miles 760 yards to Carmarthen', while the east-facing plate shows '2 miles to Narberth'. Both plates feature the inscription 'Marychurch Foundry' in smaller letters at the bottom. This milepost is the fourth along the Tavernspite turnpike.
