Description
The East Limekiln at Croft Quarries is a well-preserved, boldly projecting semicircular kiln, measuring about 10 meters in diameter and approximately 8 meters in height. It is constructed from rubble limestone, featuring small offsets at intervals to create a slight batter. The face of the masonry has numerous beam or putlog holes. The kiln is situated against high ground, with revetment wings on either side. It has opposed working apertures, each with corbelling and an arch at the front. A small parapet remains at the top.
