Description

Pincheston Quarry Limekiln is a large kiln made of rubble limestone, standing about 4 meters tall. It features the typical local semi-circular design, although it is irregular in shape. A ramp leads up from the south side. There are openings located at the north and southeast sides. Next to the southeast opening, there is a rough semi-circular buttress. Above the north opening, the masonry is raised to a point, resembling a gable, which suggests that there may have been a large shed attached to it. The bowl of the kiln has been entirely filled with recent tipping.
