Description
The East Limekiln at Kiln Park, Blaencilgoed, is a well-preserved semicircular kiln that stands approximately 6 meters tall. It is constructed from rubble limestone, which has been roughly arranged in courses, featuring small offsets at intervals to create a slight batter. The masonry displays numerous beam or putlog holes. The kiln is positioned against high ground and has revetment wings on either side. There are opposed working apertures, each with corbelling and an arch at the front. On the eastern side, there is a remnant of a hut that has been built into the revetment wall.
